Terms, Data Use and Aviation Disclaimer

Effective date: 8 May 2026

This page combines Terms and Conditions, Privacy and Data Processing information, and the flight safety disclaimer for VFR Wise.

Last updated to reflect product scope wording, AI transparency, and public contact options.

1. Terms and Conditions

By using VFR Wise, you agree to use the service lawfully and for personal or internal operational briefing support. You must not reverse engineer, disrupt, misuse, or attempt unauthorised access to the platform.

You must be aged 18 or over to create an account or use paid features of VFR Wise.

We may update, suspend, or remove features at any time, including AI-derived summaries and classifications. Continued use after updates means you accept the updated terms.

Product scope note: VFR Wise briefing services are focused on UK operations. VFR Wise mobile apps are built for worldwide pilot use.

2. Aviation Advisory and No Liability

VFR Wise is a decision-support and briefing aid only. It is not an official source of aviation information, not an Air Navigation Service Provider product, and not a substitute for official briefings.

The pilot in command remains solely responsible for flight planning and operational decisions, including validating weather, NOTAM, airspace, aerodrome, and performance data against official current sources.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, VFR Wise accepts no liability for any loss, damage, delay, incident, or consequential impact arising from reliance on information provided by this service.

3. Service Availability and Warranty Disclaimer

VFR Wise is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, continuous access, or that any feature will remain available at all times.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties, representations, and guarantees regarding accuracy, completeness, timeliness, fitness for purpose, and suitability of outputs for any specific flight or operational decision.

4. Privacy and Data Processing

We process account, usage, and technical data to run and secure the platform, provide features, improve reliability, and support billing and customer service.

We use third-party providers under contractual controls. Depending on the workflow, these providers may act as our processor, or as an independent controller under their own terms.

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data, and may object to or restrict certain processing, subject to applicable law and legitimate operational requirements.

5. AI-Assisted Features

Some VFR Wise features provide AI-assisted summaries, labels, and briefing support to help you read large operational updates faster.

These outputs are advisory and may be incomplete, out of date, or incorrect. You must always validate operationally relevant information against current official sources before flight.

6. Third-Party Services and Data Sources

Stripe (payments): Used for payment processing, fraud checks, and billing operations. Card details are handled by Stripe checkout components rather than stored in full by VFR Wise. Stripe Privacy Policy

Auth0 (authentication): Used for sign-in, account identity and security events (for example login timestamps, IP/device metadata, and authentication identifiers). Auth0 Privacy Policy

Resend (email delivery): Used for service and account-related emails (for example verification, billing, or support communications). Resend Privacy Policy

Azure Application Insights (essential reliability monitoring): Used to monitor frontend errors and request failures so we can detect outages and fix stability issues. This telemetry runs in cookie-less mode and is limited to operational monitoring data. Microsoft Application Insights Privacy

Google Analytics (analytics): Used for product usage measurement and performance analytics. Non-essential analytics technologies are enabled only after consent, and consent can be updated at any time via the "Manage cookies" link in the site footer. Google Analytics Data Controls

Google AdSense (advertising): Used to show advertising on the marketing site. The AdSense script loads on marketing pages with Google Consent Mode v2 defaults that deny ad-related cookies until you choose. While those defaults apply, Google may still show limited ads based on this site's content rather than personalised profiles. If you accept optional cookies via the banner, we update consent so ads and analytics can use cookies as described here; if you reject, we keep those signals denied (analytics stays off; ads remain limited where Google supports that). Consent can be updated at any time via the "Manage cookies" link in the site footer. Where applicable we send Consent Mode v2 signals for ad storage, ad user data, ad personalisation, and analytics storage. Google Advertising Technologies

UK AIP AIXM data via NATS dataset distribution: Used for aerodrome, runway, navaid, reporting point, frequency, and airspace reference data shown in the product. NATS eAIP

NATS NOTAM briefing datasets: NOTAM-related information displayed in VFR Wise is sourced from current aviation briefing datasets used for UK workflows. Users must always validate against current official briefing sources before flight.

Aviation Weather Center (METAR and TAF data): Current METAR and TAF reports and station reference data are sourced from Aviation Weather Center services and cache files. Users must always validate against current official briefing sources before flight.

Open-Meteo UKMO model data: Used for forecast-derived weather products and wind prediction workflows where VFR Wise shows model-based guidance rather than observed reports. Open-Meteo

Aviation Weather Center station cache: Station reference data is sourced from Aviation Weather Center cache files. stations.cache.json.gz

Leaflet (map library): Used to render interactive maps within the NOTAM experience. Leaflet is open-source software under the BSD 2-Clause licence. Leaflet Licence

7. Data Transfers, Retention and Security

Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where required, we apply recognised transfer safeguards (for example contractual transfer mechanisms) and appropriate technical and organisational controls.

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for service delivery, legal compliance, dispute handling, and fraud/security prevention.

8. Data Source Attribution and Official Status

VFR Wise may display data derived from external aviation and infrastructure sources, including NOTAM and aerodrome datasets. Availability, completeness, timing, and formatting can vary by source and integration path.

Map tile rendering currently uses OpenStreetMap and CARTO-hosted tiles and attribution requirements apply. OpenStreetMap Attribution and Copyright

VFR Wise is not affiliated with or endorsed by NATS, Aviation Weather Center, Open-Meteo, OpenStreetMap, CARTO, Leaflet, Auth0, Stripe, Resend, Google Analytics, or Google AdSense unless explicitly stated.
