Certain flights not requiring licensed facilities may operate outside hours strictly by prior arrangement. Portland Heliport does not routinely handle passenger or cargo but is capable of limited services as described above by prior arrangement. Rotor running refuels are permitted. However, whilst refuelling personnel are under the rotor disc, crew changes from the front seat should be avoided. All rotor running refuels are to be conducted on the fuel stand next to the fuel farm. Limited crew room and kitchen facilities are available during heliport opening hours. The runway is separated from the main helicopter dispersal area by a grass flood bund. There is a watertight gate through the bund which is to be opened during flight operations. Helicopters must hover taxi over the flood gate or flood bund to and from the apron and FATO. Once on the apron, all helicopters should taxi to and from the fuel stand under guidance from the marshaller. Once on the apron, all helicopters should self-position and taxi to and from the allocated stand. Not all stands are separated for all helicopter types. Stands will be allocated by A/G operator. Portland Heliport has no taxiway. The apron is surrounded by solid white border. Secondary TLOF can be used only when Stands 3 and 4 are clear. Yellow guidance lines on entry to apron to Fuel Stand.
